Ohmygodmyleg!

My leg is bloody sore... but we can get to that later. It all began when...

I drove out to comedy where we watched a great show. When I say 'we' I mean Kris, Justine, Paul, Sinead, Adria, and Celina Fader. After the show Justine, Kris and I headed to the pub where my two friends enjoyed a few drinks with the knowledge that I would be driving them home afterward. While they had their drinks we discussed the possibility of going to Europe this summer, because it would be awesome to do so. After much conversation we eventually left the pub. We dropped Kris off and then headed for Justine's house. When I dropped her off I made the mistake of pulling into Justine's street. For this I am a moron. Due to the recent snowfall Justine's street was impossible to drive up and considering Justine lives right on the corner anyway I didn't really need to pull up the street.

The 'adventure' part of this really starts after I drop Justine off.

So, she gets out of the car and I attempt to drive up the hill. Attempt. I manage, eventually, after failing a few times to use a driveway to turn around to drive most of the way to the next corner. Then I get to a point where my car just can't go forward anymore. It makes engine noises but there is no movement. Now we get to the part where my leg is killing me. Driving a standard front-wheel drive car through the snow is fucking stupid! You have to (at least in my car) drive mostly in first gear with your clutch pushed halfway down. The constant movement of my left leg pressing on the clutch got on my nerves. Seriously, I think it stretched and pulled and held my nerves in ways they do not like. My leg still hurts.

Anyways...

I eventually decided to start going in reverse down the hill, it was the only way I could get out on my own. While I descended backwards down the hill I managed to pull into a driveways and get my car turned around. This allowed me to make it the rest of the way off Justine's street and home with little incident.

Damn my leg hurts!

ouch dude, that sorta sucks!

I'm not sure if it would've helped in this situation, but one little tip I heard about standard's was that if you're stuck in snow that you should start in second gear instead of first because it won't slide your tires as fast and you'll be able to get traction much easier.
