The Weekend

Friday: Music, Booze, Walks

Right.
So.
It's Friday Morning.
I pick up Hayate on the way to SFU.
We get some breakfast while waiting for the bus.
We barely manage to catch it.
But we do.

Enough of this.

We go to our tutorial and I try my best to pay attention. Afterwards we hang with Adrian, Hayate leaves soon because Adrian is playing WoW and I'm watching Samurai 7. After about an hour I head up to my World Literature lecture, where I actually did pay attention. In the two hours I had to kill between the lecture and the tutorial I ate an awesome Bacon, Cheddar, Lettuce, Turkey, Ham and Roast Beef sub from the Mr. Sub on campus. I then proceeded to watch more Samurai 7. The tutorial went by pretty fast, because I actually took part in the discussion for once. I think it's because of all the orange juice I've been drinking in class. Vitamin C, yay! Class ends and I hop on the bus downtown and, after satisfying my need to listen to "Boppin' at the Morgue" by the Diskords, I watch the final episode of Samurai 7. It ends just before the bus pulls in and I run to my car.

I phone Justine, she's hanging with Hayate in the Bread Garden across the street. I drive over and we attempt to form some plans for the night.

Idea #1:
"Let's find a party... a fuck it, too much effort"

Idea #2:
"Let's go do karaoke!"
"Good idea!"
which leads to...

Idea #3:
"Fuck that shit, let's go to my house. We can jam, drink and go for walks in the snow ridden woods"
"Fuck yeah!"

So we stop by both of my comrades houses and they grab some instruments and we head out to my house.

Pit Stop #1:
Taco Del Mar, we ate dinner and were kinda disappointed. Oh well, it is a fast food chain.

Pit Stop #2:
The Liquor Store, Hayate and Justine bought some Granville Island Pale Ale. We already had the necessary Hard Liquor at my house.

Pit Stop #3:
Coopers Food (aka Old Place of Employment), we bought chips, we bought coke, we bought dip. We decided to pass up on buying Orange Juice in favor of squeezing some fresh organic orange juice ourselves, yum.

We arrive at my house, where my dad is squeezing orange juice for us. We run the instruments out into the warehouse, followed shortly by the booze and snacks. I got to finally show off my crazy old Fender amp to someone who would actually use it. While the other two were setting up their instruments I ran off and grabbed the girl staying at the neighbors house (whom I shall call K, because I don't know her well enough to put her name up here). K agreed to come over and hang out while we jammed. We played around a bit (Hayate = Guitar/Vox, Justine = Guitar/Vox, Jessy = Vox), improved a song or three. Played some songs Justine and Hayate used to play a lot back in the day. I sang along the best as I could if I didn't know the lyrics off by heart. Eventually, K headed home and we continued to mess around and drink. Grey Goose (courtesy of Hayate a few months back on my birthday) and freshly squeezed Orange Juice is amazing.

We headed inside for a bit and watched Fret's at Hayate's insistence, he was heavily disappointed by it. We then watched The Amazing Screw-On Head and headed out. By out I mean into the woods, trying to find our way down to the mountain. Justine and I would walk ahead, talking, while Hayate walked behind playing my old acoustic guitar and, sometimes, singing. After a while I decided we had to get out of the woods before we got lost. We exited the woods and walked along the road talking about relationships and the imminent end of the world (Global Warming). Eventually, Justine got cold and we headed back to the house. We entered my room, watched some TV and drank my massive bottle of rum (another birthday gift, courtesy of Craig(We had already finished the Grey Goose)), mixed with Coke. Eventually, while watching the opening of MirrorMask, Justine passed out and we decided to go to bed.

End Friday (at about 4:30 am on Saturday)

Saturday: Food, Hockey, Sweeney Todd, Talking

Around 9:30 I awoke, followed shortly by Justine. I went to get some water and use the bathroom and by the time I returned Hayate was also up. He and Justine were drinking beers. We hung out for a bit and finally ventured too the kitchen. We listened to music in there and drank juice and tea. Soon we headed out to Bruce's Country Market to get Breakfast/Lunch (listening to The Gaslight Anthem's album "Sink or Swim"). It was so ridiculously good. Listen up! I only spent $12 and got a bottle of Sobe Green Tea, a bowl of Salmon Chowder, a half plate of Scalloped Potatoes and a Cornish Pasty! After eating and wandering around the market for a bit we headed back to my house, where we brought in the instruments. I showered and then drove my friends to Hayate's house, where I dropped them off.

I headed to the Romein's and hung with Brian for a few hours before we headed out to Boston Pizza. Brian bought me dinner and we eventually headed to Lougheed Station and caught the skytrain. I dozed on the train until we arrived at GM Place. We went in and proceeded to watch Vancouver get our asses handed to us by Colorado. It hurt to watch, and I'm not even that into Hockey. When the game ended (6 to 2, Colorado) we skytrained back to the car and went to Silver City Coquitlam and watched Sweeney Todd for free (Brian's got hookups). It was awesome, really awesome, so awesome I downloaded the soundtrack earlier tonight. If you haven't seen this movie, go see it. Now.

The movie ended, much to my disappointment, and we headed out. We drove to the Tim Horton's near Brian's house while he looked for something for us to do, it was only around 12:45 at the time. After eating a sandwich each and failing to get any plans set in stone, we headed to the Romein's. Upon arrival we went on the net and talked to some friends. I ended up talking for a very long time to one of Brian's friends who I had only met once a week before. It was a lot of fun and she seems pretty awesome. I also got addicted to the Friends for Sale! application on Facebook (Curse you Brian!). At around 4:30 am we called it a night and went to bed.

(End Saturday)

Sunday: Noon, Pictures, Pie

9-ish am:

I woke up, went to the washroom, and went back to sleep.

Sometime shortly after Noon:

I woke up, it was the latest I had slept in several months. I got up and phoned me mum. I hung out with Jay and got him to take some awesome photo's of me.

After Jay emailed me the photo's and I talked to Paul for a bit (trying to convince him to throw another BBQ party) I headed home. We eventually had a Salmon dinner and I was sent out to purchase some French Vanilla Ice Cream for the Caramel Apple Pie my Dad had bought for dessert. I picked up the Ice Cream, along with Rice Milk and Sandwich Meat (I'm eating Turkey and Salami Sandwiches this week!) and headed home. Eventually I had a piece of pie with ice cream, it was awesome. After much time killing I remembered to update this, because this weekend kind of counts as an Adventure.

Music that was listened too while writing this:

Candy Cigarettes and Cap Guns - Andrew Jackson Jihad
People That Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World - Andrew Jackson Jihad
