My leg is bloody sore... but we can get to that later. It all began when...
I drove out to comedy where we watched a great show. When I say 'we' I mean Kris, Justine, Paul, Sinead, Adria, and Celina Fader. After the show Justine, Kris and I headed to the pub where my two friends enjoyed a few drinks with the knowledge that I would be driving them home afterward. While they had their drinks we discussed the possibility of going to Europe this summer, because it would be awesome to do so. After much conversation we eventually left the pub. We dropped Kris off and then headed for Justine's house. When I dropped her off I made the mistake of pulling into Justine's street. For this I am a moron. Due to the recent snowfall Justine's street was impossible to drive up and considering Justine lives right on the corner anyway I didn't really need to pull up the street.
The 'adventure' part of this really starts after I drop Justine off.
So, she gets out of the car and I attempt to drive up the hill. Attempt. I manage, eventually, after failing a few times to use a driveway to turn around to drive most of the way to the next corner. Then I get to a point where my car just can't go forward anymore. It makes engine noises but there is no movement. Now we get to the part where my leg is killing me. Driving a standard front-wheel drive car through the snow is fucking stupid! You have to (at least in my car) drive mostly in first gear with your clutch pushed halfway down. The constant movement of my left leg pressing on the clutch got on my nerves. Seriously, I think it stretched and pulled and held my nerves in ways they do not like. My leg still hurts.
Anyways...
I eventually decided to start going in reverse down the hill, it was the only way I could get out on my own. While I descended backwards down the hill I managed to pull into a driveways and get my car turned around. This allowed me to make it the rest of the way off Justine's street and home with little incident.
Damn my leg hurts!

Day #12:
I got up and went into town with my parents for about ten minutes before we came back to the condo. Then everyone left for the beach, except for me. I hung around the condo, playing Final Fantasy VI and reading I Am Legend. I made some Mac & Cheese for lunch and eventually the others returned. We hung about for a bit, then eventually made our way into Honolulu for dinner. We went to Duke's Canoe somethingorother (restaurant? club? Hell if I know) where I ate a not-great burger. While we were waiting and while we were eating Ashley took some pictures of the sunset. After eating we wandered around the shops and eventually headed home. Once here we really didn't do much. Though, while watching a program on Animal Planet I learned that there are Giant Otters that can grow to be seven feet long.... I want one.

Day #12: A Whole Box'o'Snappers
Do you know what snappers are? They are little paper balls filled with gunpowder. We just dumped a whole 45 boxes worth on the pavement from two stories up. It went band... several times.
BANG!!
BANG!!
Day #11: Last Day of the Year
Happy New Year!
I woke up as my Mom and Ashley left to go shopping in Honolulu for the day, leaving the menfolk behind at the condo, vehicle-less. Sometime around noon we walked into town to get some lunch, we had some pasta at a New York style pizza and pasta place. It was pretty good, we then looked in some shops for shorts for my brother. While looking in these stores my brother finally managed to get me the wallet he owed me for Christmas. Huzzah for a new wallet! We then walked back to the condo. We watched a bit of Casino Royale until the two girls got back. We then went to Cholos for dinner. It was good, but I wasn't feeling to good. When we got back we headed out onto the beach where LinZ set off some fireworks (I think it's important to point out that fireworks are way more accessible here then in the lower mainland. The air is literally thick with smoke and the smell of gunpowder. (WARZONE!)). After watching some brightly coloured chemical reactions we came back up and watched a but of Troy. At about quarter to midnight we went back down and set off the rest of the fireworks. Just before midnight I started phoning my friends and wishing them a Happy New Year, many of them sounded pleasantly sloshed, one of them was asleep (sorry Ange) and some of them hadn't even known I was out of the country (Also some of them didn't answer their bloody phones, but it's their loss I suppose).
Again, Happy New Year.
